Membership in Mowogo Lodge
Ordeal Candidates
Those who have been selected to become members in the Order of the Arrow, youth and adult, must first complete the Ordeal of the Order. Mowogo Lodge holds two Ordeal Weekends each year, one in March and one in May. Candidates must complete the Ordeal during one of two fellowship weekends, in either March or May. Candidates approaching their first Ordeal opportunity will find information about the next upcoming Ordeal weekend and the registration form in the Candidate Opportunity Letter. Those who bypassed the first Ordeal opportunity will also find the information for the second Ordeal opportunity in the above letter.
New Ordeal Members
Welcome to Mowogo Lodge!! Your main source of information will be your Chapter members. You are encouraged to attend your Chapter meetings and the next Mowogo Lodge Function so that you might learn about Mowogo and the Order and the path to Brotherhood membership. This website will also provide a great deal of information about the Lodge.
Sealing Membership in the Order by Brotherhood Conversion
After 6 months of Ordeal membership you are able to seal your membership in the Order by becoming a Brotherhood member. During Brotherhood conversion, you will participate in a ceremony to help refresh and enrich your understanding of the principles and traditions of the OA.
Chapters provide a number of opportunities for Brotherhood Conversion separately from fellowship weekends. This allows more focus and attention to be paid to the new Ordeal members on fellowship weekends, and allows the Brotherhood candidates to focus on the duties required to seal their membership. It also provides an opportunity for additional service to the Council properties, Rainey Mountain and Scoutland.
For more information, see Brotherhood Membership.
