Elangomat Training 2023

Brothers,

We are excited to announce the 2023 Elangomat training dates! Elangomats are the brothers who help to guide new Ordeal candidates through their Ordeal and to Brotherhood. We need each of you to become a trained Elangomat to help to make this year a success for both our Lodge and for the new Candidates.

The training will last from 9:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. unless otherwise stated. There is no cost for the training, but you will need to bring your own lunch. Please also bring a water bottle, work gloves, work clothes, a notebook and pen, and a raincoat.

The scheduled dates are as follows:
January 21st - Scoutland (Admin Building)
February 11th - Camp Woodruff (Machque Brotherhood Day)
March 11th - Scoutland (Craft Shack)
April 1st - Camp Rotary
May 13th - Scoutland (Admin Building)

One of the most important pieces of our Ordeal weekends is the Elangomats.
This is such a necessary role that has the potential to make or break the experience of the candidates.

The role of the Elangomat is simple - be a friend to the candidates. You serve with them throughout the day, staying silent, and eating little. It is an opportunity for you as an Arrowman to lead by example and demonstrate the cheerful service of our brotherhood.

If you are interested in serving at one (or both) of our Ordeal weekends this year, and either have not been previously trained or would like to be eligible for Wolf Clan this year, please register to attend one of the training dates and locations listed.

Pay special attention to our first elangomat training NEXT WEEKEND at Scoutland. Registration is on the Mowogo Website, and it is completely free to sign up. As our brothers who have previously Elangomated will tell you, the experience is life changing and helps to remind you of the purpose of our Order. I look forward to seeing you all at one of our Elangomat trainings!

Online Registration 2023

Registration is now available for some of the 2023 Lodge events.

Lodge Event Registration

As has been the convention in past years, registration forms for upcoming major Lodge events will only be made available one at a time. Once that Lodge function is over, registration for the next Lodge function will become available. For example, registration is currently only available for the Spring Fellowship event. PreCamp Fellowship registration will not go online until after Spring Fellowship. This limitation helps reduce some of the burden on the admin team and reduces the number of registrations made in error for the wrong event.

2023 Mowogo event registration windows:

  • Jan 1, 2023 - Mar 14, 2023: Lodge member Spring Fellowship 2023 registration window
  • Mar 20, 2023 - May 16, 2023: Lodge member PreCamp Fellowship 2023 registration window
  • May 22, 2023 - Sep 12, 2023: Lodge member Pow Wow 2023 registration window
  • Sep 28, 2023 - Nov 14, 2023: Lodge member Fall Fellowship 2023 registration window (New event for 2023)
  • Nov 20, 2023 - Jan 9, 2024: Lodge member Winter Banquet 2024 registration window

Mowogo Season Pass

Back for 2023 is the Mowogo Season Pass. For those brothers that like to register for everything at the beginning of the year, this will provide the ability to register for Spring Fellowship, PreCamp Fellowship, and Pow Wow, with a single form. The Mowogo Season Pass will only be available between now and Spring Fellowship. After that time registration will only be available for single events at a time. Sorry, but Fall Fellowship and Winter Banquet registration will still need to be made separately.

  • Jan 1, 2023 - Mar 14, 2023: Mowogo Season Pass registration window

Ordeal Registration

As we have done for the past several years, Ordeal registration is only available for one event at a time. Registration windows for Ordeal candidates are as follows:

  • Jan 1, 2023 - Mar 10, 2023: Ordeal - Spring Fellowship 2023 registration window
  • Mar 20, 2023 - May 12, 2023: Ordeal - PreCamp Fellowship 2023 registration window
  • May 22, 2023 - Nov 10, 2023: Ordeal - Fall Fellowship 2023 registration window (New event for 2023)

Mowogo Lodge 2023 News!!

Dear Mowogo Lodge,

I hope that all of you are doing well, and that you also are enjoying your time off!! I am honored to be serving as your lodge chief in 2023! We are coming out of a wonderful past few years of rebuilding and success, and our Lodge Leadership this year plans to continue the growth of our lodge!! We have a fantastic group of lodge officers and chapter chiefs this year that will thrive in their positions and make our events even better!

Our leadership has big plans for our lodge this year, and one of the biggest of them will be a Fall Fellowship!! This will be a fantastic opportunity to gather together again with friends, and also give us an opportunity to provide more service within our council!! This will be a weekend that will provide an ordeal to candidates, and a brotherhood conversion. This will also be a lodge function held at Scoutland, giving us a chance to provide our wonderful service to another great camp in our council!! The dates for this will be November 17-19, so mark your calendars for a wonderful opportunity that will be provided alongside our other four wonderful functions!!!

We have a wonderful year ahead of us!!! If you have any questions about anything, or have anything that you would like to see done this year, please feel free to reach out to me at any time!!! Thank you for your dedication to cheerful service, and for being a crucial part of Mowogo Lodge!! I look forward to seeing all of you in the near future!

Yours in Brotherhood,

Joseph E. McGahee | Lodge Chief
