Swapa OA Service Corps - Help Needed!

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

I hope the start of school is treating you well. SWAPA is the weekend of September 27-29. SWAPA is a campout for Apalachee and Sweetwater District, a district jamboree style camping event at Camp Rainey Mountain.

Staff is needed for OA Service Corp to help programs go smoothly throughout the weekend. There are many opportunities to help with programs. On Friday night help is needed with parking and getting cars there parking passes. The SWAPA OA Service Corp helps out areas who need assistance with program events or supporting the activities. We have a wide variety of programs that might need help with their activities and/or supplies. You do not need to stay the whole weekend as help is mostly needed on Friday evening to get troops checked in and directing vehicles. Saturday help is needed for the programs and getting ready for all of the scouts to have an awesome time.

Please Fill Out this Form https://forms.gle/76rc3e1gEe7EMv1KA if you are interested in volunteering for OA Service Corp.

Yours in service,

Katelyn King

Sign up for NLS and DYLC Today!

Brothers,

Registration is filling up FAST for the National Leadership Seminar and the time to sign up is now!

National Leadership Seminar (NLS) for Youth and Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC) for adults are the premier leadership training programs of the Order of the Arrow. Both pieces of training complement skills taught at NYLT/Wood Badge all while providing new and useful skills to better your ability as a leader.

Being a training held on the region level, you would be able to meet various scouts and even national officers from all across the country and develop relationships that you will still have several years later. Ask any scout who has taken NLS/DYLC and they could still talk to you about the meaningful friendships they made.

NLS/DYLC also teaches very useful leadership tips and skills in an environment tailored to ensure you develop in the best way you can. You are taught leadership skills that focus more on you as a leader and how to channel your skills to what you need.

This year, the closest seminar is being held in Nashville Tennessee on November 1st-3rd. Register at registration.oa-bsa.org or here. Don't forget to sign in using your email to register!

Pow Wow is Less than a month away!

Brothers,

Our big event, Pow Wow is less than a month away on September 20th-22nd. Be sure to register now here or at Mowogo.org.

This year, we are turning Pow Wow into an event similar to Conclave! The morning will consist of unique yet fulfilling training, the afternoon will have different quest games where you compete with other chapters around the lodge in games such as kickball, ultimate frisbee, and tug of war. Then the evening will have a talent show (let your chapter chief know if you would like to participate!), movie night, and a tailypo festival of several desserts and games! There will even be a chance to convert to Brotherhood.

Another unique twist we put into the conclave is that a Lodge Chief reunion will occur! Every single lodge chief from Mowogo's history is invited to the event. You will be able to have the opportunity to talk with the previous lodge chiefs and learn about history, advice, and other unique bits of trivia. Additionally, the Section leadership is invited and will join us for the weekend!

If you have gone through your ordeal in the spring, you are eligible for Brotherhood! Click the "Converting to Brotherhood" box or if you have any issues, contact our VCM of Membership at lodge.vcm@mowogo.org.

Finally, since this is a circus-themed event, do not forget to bring any carnival decorations or clothes that you might have and join us in the "circus spirit"!

See you all there!
