Pow Wow Registration is now OPEN!

Brothers,

Registration for Pow Wow is now open! Get ready for one of the coolest and most unique events Mowogo hosts annually!

Pow Wow will be from September 20th - September 22nd at Camp Rainey Mountain. This is a circus-themed weekend of games, competitions, celebrations, and even a talent show!

With around two months left until the event begins, be sure to start brainstorming and practicing the talent show, strategizing for competitions, and last but not least, start to decide if you would like to run for a leadership position for the 2025 year as Lodge and most Chapter elections will take place at Pow Wow. Be sure to reach out to your Chapter Chief for talent show and competition ideas. They are your Chapter representative and will coordinate the ideas for you.

Be sure to register early here or at Mowogo.org to avoid paying late fees starting in September.

Continue having an awesome summer!

Section E6 ACT Conference

Brothers,

The Section E6 ACT Leadership Conference is in one month! Register now before it closes on August 9th!

The ACT conference is a Section-level leadership training course that will serve as an opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people from other lodges, and learn to be a better leader.

The training can be taken and enjoyed by everyone but if you are in or thinking of any type of leadership position in the OA then I heavily recommend taking the course.

After the training, there are opportunities to hang out, have fun, and even explore the beautiful peninsula of Camp FGL! Last year activities such as a movie night, games, and even a pool party took place.

The ACT Conference will be from August 23 - 25 at Camp Frank G. Lumpkin in LaGrange GA. Register and pay the $15 fee here or go to sectione6.oa-bsa.org for more information.

See you there!

Yours in Enthusiasm,

Tamas L. Phillips | Vice Chief of Communications

Mowogo Website Move is Complete

We are happy to report that the mowogo.org website move is now complete. We are running again on the mowogo.org domain, the registration system is back online, and all mowogo.org email forwarders for Lodge leadership positions are in place.

Registration is now open to Lodge members for Pow Wow.

Registration is also open to Ordeal candidates for the Fall Fellowshihp event at Scoutland.
Please note that Fall Fellowship registration for Lodge members will not open until after Pow Wow in order to minimize the workload on the Admin Team.

New Captcha System

Most of you should be familiar with the traditional captcha verification check box. This is that little checkbox at the end of a form meant to verify that we are real human beings, and we all love having to pick out bus and traffic light images out of a line up.

The new website software still uses captcha as live user verification, however we are now using what is referred to as "Invisible Captcha" or ReCaptcha v3. This new method eliminates the check box and image selection with all verification under the hood, which should help streamline the registration/order process.

I have noticed that the new Invisible Captcha system must learn new email addresses. As such, the first time you attempt to register for an event since the move, you may see a captcha fail message (little red box in the lower right) after you click the "Process Registration" button. If this occurs, you will be returned to the registration form with all of your entered information still in place, and you should simply be able to click the "Process Registration" button again for the registration transaction to complete. This should not occur again on future registrations using the same email address.

Mowogo Website on the Move

As many of you may have noticed, we have been working to move our mowogo.org website to a new web hosting provider. The new hosting provider will enable us to run the latest versions of our site software, and help improve the speed and user experience. Thank you for your patience as we make this transition.

As part of the move, the online registration system was shut down to keep everything stable during the transition period. Once site functions are verified on the new provider's servers, we will bring the registration system back online. Our target date to reopen registration is July 1.

You may notice the site running on the mowogo.xyz domain. This is a valid and secure domain that was set up to support the site transition while we work with the council to move the mowogo.org domain. We will shift back to mowogo.org once the domain move is complete.

The mowogo.org email aliases must also be moved to the new hosting provider, and will be affected during the transition period. To avoid posting personal email addresses, we have added a new message form under Contact Us. If you are unable to get any response or you receive a bounce when attempting to use one of the mowogo.org email aliases, please use the Contact Us form and your message will be directed to the appropriate individual as needed.

Again, thank you for your patience as we work through these issues.
