Pow Wow is Less than a month away!

Brothers,

Our big event, Pow Wow is less than a month away on September 20th-22nd. Be sure to register now here or at Mowogo.org.

This year, we are turning Pow Wow into an event similar to Conclave! The morning will consist of unique yet fulfilling training, the afternoon will have different quest games where you compete with other chapters around the lodge in games such as kickball, ultimate frisbee, and tug of war. Then the evening will have a talent show (let your chapter chief know if you would like to participate!), movie night, and a tailypo festival of several desserts and games! There will even be a chance to convert to Brotherhood.

Another unique twist we put into the conclave is that a Lodge Chief reunion will occur! Every single lodge chief from Mowogo's history is invited to the event. You will be able to have the opportunity to talk with the previous lodge chiefs and learn about history, advice, and other unique bits of trivia. Additionally, the Section leadership is invited and will join us for the weekend!

If you have gone through your ordeal in the spring, you are eligible for Brotherhood! Click the "Converting to Brotherhood" box or if you have any issues, contact our VCM of Membership at lodge.vcm@mowogo.org.

Finally, since this is a circus-themed event, do not forget to bring any carnival decorations or clothes that you might have and join us in the "circus spirit"!

See you all there!

Pow Wow is Coming Up! 9/20 - 9/22

Brothers,

Pow Wow is right around the corner and the time to sign up is NOW at Mowogo.org.

On the weekend of September 20th-22nd at Camp Rainey Mountain will be this annual lodge event filled with competitions, games, amazing desserts, and even a talent show.

This year we are expanding all that you know about Pow Wow to truly make it a weekend to remember! One way we are doing this is by making it circus-themed. Be sure to dress up as carnival-like as possible and spread the spirit around!

In the morning there will be a variety of training varying from goofy and fun to very useful in improving your leadership. In the afternoon there will be different competitions and activities to enjoy. Talk to your Chapter Chief if you have any fun game ideas or training that might even appear at Pow Wow!

Talk to your Chapter Chief if you would like to compete in the talent show! Last but not least there will even be a lodge chief reunion where all past lodge chiefs of Mowogo will be invited!

ACT Conference 10 days away!

Brothers,

Our Section's ACT Conference is only 10 days away! Be sure to sign up here.

The Conference will be from August 23rd to 25th at Frank G. Lumpkin Scout Camp in LaGrange GA.

ACT is a Section-wide training course which is a great way not only to meet with scouts from all across Georgia and Alabama but also to teach valuable leadership skills not taught at ILST or NYLT.

If you would like to improve your leadership and make new friends I recommend you sign up. I especially recommend you attend if you are currently in an OA leadership position or if you are considering running for one at Pow Wow.

At the ACT Conference this year, there will be an opportunity to meet and talk to the National Vice Chief of the Order of the Arrow John Andrew Segebarth which will not be an opportunity you would want to miss.

Register here or at sectione6.oa-bsa.org. Keep in mind that the $15 payment will be at the door.

See you there!

Last Call for Indian Summer!

Hello Brothers,

It's getting late to sign up for Indian Summer. You don't want to miss out on an Elangomat Training. Are you not convinced yet....what about getting to watch a live LEC meeting?

Want More Info?

For those planning to attend, we are excited to see you all this weekend. Our Chapter members and I love providing service to our council's primitive camping property, Camp Rotary. We hope you all will enjoy the property as much as we do. Just a few quick reminders.

  • Bring all of your appropriate PPE (Work Gloves, goggles or glasses, and long pants)
  • Bring the appropriate equipment (like loppers, hand saws, and other Scout-appropriate cutting implements)
  • Be sure you are prepared for the weather (Water, Sunscreen, and a Hat)
  • Side note on hats. The camp's lovable mascot Scout (the dog) doesn't like Cowboy hats, so unless you want to get barked at...maybe pick a different hat for the day
  • Lastly, Registration closes on Wednesday at midnight. So please register before so that we can determine our food budget. If you have any issues with paying beforehand let us know as soon as possible.

In Brotherhood,

Hayden Simpson
2024 Ani-Gatogewi Chapter Chief and Brotherhood Chair
